Here’s What’s Happening - Saturday, November 14,  2020 in Dunsmuir:
• Bite this Chew on That Pet Store will let you use their pet washing facility for free when you buy a large bag of dog food. Ask Brad.
• Cafe Maddalena's is offering a special Second Saturday Prix Fixe menu. The meal includes Cream of Kuri Squash Soup, Braised Berbere Spiced Lamb Shank over Brown Butter Farro with pickled plums and lemon tart for dessert. $31 for this meal. Reservations recommended at (530) 235-2725. 
• The Cornerstone Restaurant is offering coffee for just a dollar when you buy breakfast or lunch from 8:30 to 2:30 pm. Check out their new Middle Eastern lunch entrees.  
• Get your wood supply covered with plastic sheeting. The Dunsmuir Hardware is selling 10 ft x 25 ft 4 mil plastic sheeting for $10.99 as a Second Saturday special. Regularly priced at 15.99.
• Get a deal on a one-hour session Sensory Deprivation Floatation Tank. $50 dollar (Normally $60.) Be sure to ask about getting a combination massage and float and /or salt room therapy session. Enjoy the 20% off Second Saturday discount on any clothing at the Magic Mountain Massage & Wellness from 12 noon to 6 pm.
• The Mossbrae Hotel will host an art reception for International artist Ray Beldner from 3 to 6 pm. The Lone Arranger will play classical music from 3 to 4:30 pm with Linda Mattos Soprano and classical guitarist Mike Yee, while Rick Garrett will play Latin fingerstyle guitar from 4:30 to 6 pm. Ray Beldner's work will be on display in the lobby's hotel through December 9 and will be available for purchase. Shastica Beauty Apothecary, Mt. Shasta Hand Knits and Heather Stone Jewelry will also be selling their wares throughout the day
• The Sacred Well is hosting a poetry reading from 5 to 6 pm. You are invited to read from any of the books at the store, choose from a favorite selection, or read one of your own. Their healthy hot drinks will also be available for a $1 off for Dunsmuir Second Saturday. Come join us.
•  Check out the new show "BeWilderness" at the Siskiyou Arts Museum featuring works from nature illustrator Paula Fong and wildlife photographer Dan Elster. Their doors will be open from noon to 6 pm for Dunsmuir Second Saturday. The show will be on display through December 26th.
• Up N Running Espresso will be offering spicy chili with Italian sausage and a cornbread muffin from 7:30 to 12:30 pm.
• The Wheelhouse will be offering a Chicken Philly Sandwich with American cheese, onions, French fries and iced tea or a Coors Banquet for $12.99.
• Wonderland Music will showcase the art of local Dunsmuirian Chen Compton, who will also be spinning records from 2:30 to 5 pm. Go check it out.

• The Dunsmuir Lodge now offers rides to and from the PCT trail. It costs $10 for hikers staying at the lodge, and $15 for folks who are not. For Second Saturday, rides will be $5 off.
• Get a pair of straight leg 5 pocket Dickie's Blue Jeans for $19.99 at the Dunsmuir Hardware store on Second Saturday. Also, ask them about the book on Dunsmuir that’s for sale at the store.
•  At The Haven from 1:30-2:30 pm, Linda Mattos Soprano and classical guitarists Kevin McDowell and Mike Yee will perform classical music selections by J.S. Bach, Faure, Hahn, Mozart and more. The Haven will also hold a Second Saturday sale that includes Classical CD' for a $1, as well as Halloween specials on Mid Century Horror, Pulp and Science Fiction paperback novels. You'll also want to check out The Haven's extensive collections of  chomolithographs and photogravures. 
• Magic Mountain Massage & Wellness will have fun Tie Dye clothes on sale for 25% off, $10 off 1-hour Floatation Tank session and gift certificates.
• Mossbrae Hotel will feature landscape paintings by Dunsmuir local Brian Mackenzie from 3 to 6 pm. The Lone Arranger will play classical guitar from 3:30 to 5 pm. Also, Shastica Beauty Apothecary will do a pop up shop in the lobby and offer samples of her handcrafted products for sale. The first ten people to visit Shastica will receive a special Second Saturday gift. Pyroclastic Chocolate will also be selling her artisan chocolates. 

• Register to vote at Pops Performing Arts from 2 to 5 pm and meet artist Tracy Hofmann. She is the contributing artist for the Tiny Pricks: Tweets, Textiles and Trump on display in the windows at Pops Performing Arts & Cultural Center.  She will have Tiny Pricks needle point kits available if you want to contribute to the project.

• Medicine Music will host a dance event with DJ Brian Kadmiri on the patio at Pops Performing Arts from 7 to 10 pm. Entrance is $10 to 20. There will also be an acoustic guitar performance at 4 pm the following day, October 11 on the Patio with Rusty Miller.

•The Sacred Well will host a Goddess Market featuring jewelry and art by local artists from 12 to 6 pm. Receive a $1 off any of their healthy teas and coffees, too. 

• Check out a new art show entitled "Let Freedom Ring" from noon to 5 pm at the Siskiyou Arts Museum. The show will be on display through November 7th.

• Protect yourself from wasps, hornets and yellow jackets at the Dunsmuir Hardware. You can get the traps for $10, with a savings of $5 on Second Saturday.
• The Haven is having an outdoor sidewalk record sale, and they are offering one dollar off on all fudge,  20 % off books, 50 cent postcards, and lemon bars for $1.50. They will be open  from 10 am to 6 pm.
• Magic Mountain Massage & Wellness will offer the local discount to all for massages and floatation tank sessions. $63 for one hour massages and $50 for an hour in the floatation tank. They are also offering 20% off on all of their clothing.
• Mossbrae Hotel will feature the artwork of Sheranda Kumara from 3 to 6 pm. Local musician Beloved will sing and play keyboard from 4 to 6 pm.Gypsy Bones will be selling her handmade jewelry, Light refreshments provided. Kumara's silk paintings will be on display in the lobby until October 9.

• Enjoy a Prix Fixe dinner at Cafe Maddalena's from 5 to 9 pm. This special Second Saturday menu includes Crispy Squash Blossoms as an  appetizer, Cold Poached Salmon Salad with lemon mayonnaise, and Chocolate Pave to complete the meal. $32 for this meal.. $40 with a glass of Bianco Veneto. Reservations recommended. 

• Indulge in the Parisian Special at The Dough Hook. It includes a plain baguette, a pastry of your choice from the case, and a medium coffee for $7.00. They will be open from  6 am to 2 pm..

• Buy night crawlers for your fishing adventure at the Dunsmuir Hardware. You can get them on this Saturday for $4.29 instead of $5.29.

• Check out vintage chromolithographs at The Haven. You can also get three squares of homemade fudge for $10 and hot dogs and burritos, too.

• Get a free iced coffee or iced tea at The Cornerstone Restaurant when you buy a meal from their new menu featuring Middle Eastern and American Cuisine. Also, get free matcha or vanilla addition when you buy a smoothie. . 
• Indulge in the Parisian Special at The Dough Hook. It includes a plain baguette, a pastry of your choice from the case, and a medium coffee for $7.00. They will be open from  6 am to 2 pm (their new store hours!).• Dunsmuir Brewery Works is offering their special Duck Tacos. Come and enjoy them at their new outdoor garden dining area. 

• At the Dunsmuir Hardware, you can buy a quart of 80% of topical antiseptic for $9 for Second Saturday only. Normally it costs $11.99. 
• Dwight Bailey will educate you about Early American Pressed Glass and give you tips on collectible glass at The Haven at 11:30 am. This pop up event will include a display of  early American Pressed Glass, Waterford Crystals and more. Glass pieces will be for sale. 

• Mossbrae Hotel will feature the works of local artist Christine O'Brien in their lobby from noon to 6 pm. Jane Rothenberg will be selling jewelry made from gemstones, other natural elements, solid copper, brass and a specialty metal called shibuichi that was originally alloyed in ancient Japan. • Enjoy Allison and Victor's Acoustic Soul music on the patio Pops Performing Arts & Cultural Center. Entrance is by donation. In the interest of social distancing, entrance will be limited to 30 people. First come, first serve. Masks requested. Bring your own picnic. 

•  You'll be able to check out a new art show entitled "Suburban Primitive" featuring works from Ron Walker & Warren Scherich at the Siskiyou Arts Museum from noon to 4 pm.

• Cherokee Native American and garden guru Two Leaf will play flute and drums outdoors at the Dunsmuir Community Garden from 9 to 11 am. Weather permitting. Check out the garden's new water feature coordinated by the Dunsmuir Community Resource Center.
• Dunsmuir Brewery Works is opening their new outdoor garden dining area. They'll be open noon to 8 pm. 
• The Dunsmuir Supermarket is offering $1 off their deli sandwiches. 
• Get a watering can for your garden for $5.99 (instead of $6.99) at the Dunsmuir Hardware Store for Second Saturday only. 
• The Haven Coffee Shop will be offering 50 cent coffees and $1 hot dogs which you can enjoy on their sidewalk tables They are also having a vintage hand carved frame sale (Large $25, Medium $15, Small $10) and 25 percent off on antiques.
• Mossbrae Hotel will host an art reception with watercolors by Tracy Hofmann from 3 to 7 pm. Jazz guitarist Marc Wright will be playing tunes, and Gypsy Bones will be selling her handmade jewelry and face masks in our outdoor area. 
• The Pizza Factory is offering a free bread stick (small) when you order an extra large pizza.
• Allison Scull and Victor Martin, Dunsmuir's favorite duo will be playing Acoustic Soul outside on the patio at Pops Performing Arts & Cultural Center from 7 to 8:30 pm,at Pops Performing Arts & Cultural Center, weather permitting. 
• The Sacred Well will be offering $1 off on their healthy and delicious coffees and teas. (Stay tuned. They are preparing for an outdoor crafts fair beginning in July.)

• Siskiyou Arts Museum has extended their current art shows.  "Into the Unknown" will be on view through July 4th, and "Civil Twilight" will be on view through June 27th. They will be open from noon to 4 pm on Dunsmuir Second Saturday. 
 
• Up n Running Espresso will offer a Lunch Special between  10:30-12:30 which is Carnitas Quesadilla w/ Side of Salsa $5.50. Their Second Saturday Drink Special  is Lavender White Mocha  (hot, iced or blended)

Dunsmuir Second Saturday Events: Dec 14, 2019

• Dunsmuir's Annual Candles in the Canyon festival will be happening throughout town. You'll be able to meet Santa at the Dunsmuir Rotary Breakfast at 8:30 to 10 am at the Dunsmuir Community Center, or the Pizza Factory at 5:30 pm, get your face painted at the Dunsmuir Resource Center, watch the Christmas Parade at 5 pm or a choir at the Methodist Church at 7 pm.

• Bite this Chew on That Pet Store will offer popcorn from old fashioned popcorn maker.

• The Cornerstone Café is now open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. Stop by, order an entrée, and you'll receive grilled zucchini appetizers for free.

• The Dunsmuir Hardware Store will be fully stocked on your holiday tree needs--Christmas lights, garlands, and tree stands.

• A Craft Faire will be happening in the Farmer's Insurance building from 11 to 3 pm.

• The Haven, Dunsmuir's newest coffee shop, will be having their grand opening at 10am. Come check out their Christmas Tree made of books, and guess how many books it is made of. Beautiful antique furniture in the store will be selling for half off.

• Buy one gift certificate and get one free at Olde Thyme Tattoo.

• Magic Mountain Wellness & Massage will offer a restorative yoga class from 2:30- 4 pm, a weekly belly dance class from 11 am to 12 pm, and a yin yoga class from 12:30-1:30 pm. You can also see new artworks by Christine O'Brien in a show entitled “Story Art.”.

• Mossbrae Hotel is excited to hold a reception for two artists: Janet Crittenden and Lou Wandro who will be showing a combination of realist and landscape paintings from 3 to 5 pm. Music, refreshments and room tours will be provided.

• The Sacred Well will have a presentation called Healthy Holiday Hacks with Natali Gail at 1 pm. It will feature tips for staying your best through the busy holiday season. Love offering $15.

• Sten's Burger's will be serving Hot Chocolate with Peppermint, Crème de Menthe or Cherry flavors, as well as Egg Nog, Peppermint and Cherry Milkshakes.

• Siskiyou Arts Museum is hosting an artists' receptions for their new exhibit, entitled “Fire & Ice" from 5 to 7 pm.
